Applying for Staff: The Rules of Staff and Applying, and More! - Read!!

Basically, the way picking staff works is somthing along these lines:

Being Promoted

Guidelines for staff:

-> has the player proved himself on forums more than in game
-> has the player proved themselves on the chatbox more than in game
-> has the player followed ::modinfo and shown to others and staff they can do it well
-> has the player ever broken any rules
-> has the player ever been banned
-> has the player ever asked for a staff position (doing so will lower your chances)
-> staff meeting to decide who is the best person for the job and a group agreement.

Other Comments:

If you ask for staff, you'll be less likely to get it - if you follow the above, you'll stand out and get picked by us! Its not about how much you beg its about making an effort to get yourself noticed above others as being a good loyal respecting player, which all of the other staff have already proven.

Getting Demoted

If you have been demoted, you were demoted because you abused your power. Abusing power can come in many forums. The most general are:

-> Using ban or ip ban as a term of abuse, this includes phrases like:
- "Give back or i'll ban you"
- "Stop that or ban"
- "Don't kill me or ban"
-- Although generally there may be a good reason to say "or ban", it's not what you should say all the time.
-> Having duped items
-> Accepting duped items and not ::emptying
-> Using staff gear or powers to kill players or npc's unfairly

If a staff member is caught doing any of these without a good reason, they will probably be demoted. All demotes can of course, be appealed in the Report section of this forum

The System of Dealing with Bad Players

All staff are Supposed... to follow this basic list:

JAIL HAS BEEN UPDATED, IT IS NOW IN GREEN

The Punishments
-> Warning (up to 3, depends on the "crime")
->Jail - (staff should come to jail and discuss it, unless the reason was obvious or warned beforehand.)
- Jail is now 500m (so use it wisely, it will take a while.)
- With the 500m you buy a Disk of Returning, and it allows you to teleport to Home through Teleblock.
-> Ban - This is permanent, it should only be done with a clear offence worthy of it.
-> Ip-Ban - Do not use this, unless it is heavy abuse, duping or hacking/cheating.

All staff should talk to players they enforce punishments upon to deal with the problem smoothly. If an incident is unresolved, it should be taken to a higher staff member or myself.
